I like to gauge my success by the amount of time I spend at home.
Home is my haven. Any day I don’t have to drive anywhere I feel accomplished. Any day I can take a five hour walk around my neighborhood and town with my 2 year old is bliss. This is actually something I always wanted, ever since I was forced to get up and go to school, just the ability to stay home and do what I please. Knowing I have already made my dreams come true, makes other goals seem much easier to accomplish.

It’s refreshing to read your point-of-view, Clare. I too love being in my home (shouldn’t we all be comfy at home?) but I’ve had days when I felt that because I didn’t get us out of the house I’ve failed my toddler. Parent guilt sux! Thankfully, a walk around the neighborhood is an adventure for very small children!! On a less-than-bright day, the neighborhood stroll has been the solution – that or a whole lot of dancing in the living room…
